VU Stable Isotope Laboratory
The VU stable isotope laboratory is specialized in the analysis of oxygen and carbon isotopic compositions of small carbonate samples (e.g. obtained by micro-milling of thin sections of rocks and shell samples), and the isotopic (carbon, oxygen and hydrogen) composition of gas and fluid inclusions in minerals (e.g. quartz and carbonates) via different crushing techniques. Furthermore, the oxygen isotopic composition of phosphate (incl. bone and teeth) can be analyzed after conversion into silverphosphate. The carbon and nitrogen isotopic composition of bulk sediment samples and collagen are routinely analyzed as well as the isotopic composition of dissolved inorganic carbon and water itself. Please let us know when you are interested in one of these analyses or more tailored options.
