Sub-samples from sediment cores collected from the Semenov Hydrothermal Field region of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge during the RRS James Cook cruise JC224 (March - April 2022) were taken for geochronological analysis. Continuous U-channel sub-samples were prepared specifically for paleomagnetic analysis. This dataset includes measurements of inclination, declination, natural remanent magnetization (NRM), and anhysteretic remanent magnetization (ARM) from the JC224 sediment cores which can be used to calculate relative palaeointesity (RPI) to constrain the age of the sediments and construct an age-depth model. Paleomagnetic measurements were carried out at the Paleomagnetism and Environmental Magnetism Laboratory at the University of Southampton. The data were collected as part of a PhD project funded under NERC's Ultramafic-hosted mineral Resource Assessment (ULTRA) project, grant reference NE/S004068/1, and the sediment cores are currently stored at the British Ocean Sediment Core Research Facility (BOSCORF) for long-term preservation.
